LIVINGSTONIA SYNOD'S CONDUCT TOWARDS GOVT IS ..............
....Laudable and Justifiable
They say Livingstonia Synod of the CCAP has gone off the mark. The synod, they charge, wants to take the law into its own hands something atypical of men of the collar. Agreeably, the Synod`s conduct has oscillated between having unbridled quarrel with their neighbour Nkhoma Synod over border issues to picking a bone with government on this and that issue. Strange, really. And, in this mind of the critics, regionalism is the synod`s vocabulary; intolerance is their weapon; stubbornness is their middle name – whatever that means. Some have been even uttered unkind words for the synod over their recent conduct: their stance against quota system and overall alleged President Bingu wa Mutharika`s biased administration against the north, the Synod`s territory. The Synod has since rejected, albeit unsuccessfully, the secondary school selection list. Towards the end of last year, they wanted to demonstrate against the government on the same, but the police (or is it government?)Stopped them – for whatever reason.
